Gathering Yarns is about connecting through our stories, and the shared experience of creating something unique in a world of mass production.
Our sewing retreats are borne out of the joy of sewing, a love of fabrics and the delight experienced in giving handmade garments as gifts.
Bring your own project and sew whatever takes your fancy.
You don’t need to be an expert seamstress, but a basic level of sewing knowledge is required.
Our stories and yarns stitch us together.
Our Next Sewing Retreat

What is included:
- Individual accommodation
- All meals catered for: Continental breakfasts, two-course lunches and dinners, morning and afternoon tea, plus all-day tea and coffee
- A bright, spacious, dedicated sewing room
- Individual sewing table
- Ironing boards and irons
- Kitchenette with tea and coffee facilities
- Air-conditioning and heating
The Centre is set in restful, landscaped grounds and is close to the ocean.
What to bring: A sewing project! Your machine and overlocker (if you have one), your sewing aids, your laughter, and a yarn or two to share.
Enjoy a weekend of uninterrupted sewing with like-minded people.
